Meditate beneath the Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya, walk Vulture Peak in Rajgir and the ruins of Nalanda, visit Sarnath where the first sermon was given, pay respects at the reclining Buddha of Kushinagar and end at Lumbini in Nepal, where the Buddha was born.

Arrive at Gaya airport or railway station and transfer to Bodhgaya. Evening meditation at the Mahabodhi Temple beneath the sacred Bodhi tree.

Visit the Great Buddha Statue, the Royal Bhutan, Thai and Japanese monasteries, Sujata Stupa and the Archaeological Museum.

Day trip to Rajgir for Vulture Peak and the Vishwa Shanti Stupa, and to the ruins of Nalanda Mahavihara, the great monastic university.

Drive to Varanasi (about 6 hours). Afternoon at Sarnath - the Dhamek Stupa where the Buddha gave his first sermon, the Mulagandha Kuti Vihar and the museum with the Lion Capital.

Sunrise boat ride on the Ganga, a walk through the old city and the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
Overnight stay in Kushinagar
Drive to Kushinagar, where the Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. Visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple with its reclining Buddha and the Ramabhar Stupa.
Overnight stay in Lumbini
Cross into Nepal at Sonauli and drive to Lumbini. Evening at the World Peace Pagoda.
Tour Ends
Visit the Maya Devi Temple, the Ashoka Pillar and the Monastic Zone, then drive to Gorakhpur for your onward journey.
