2 Days / 1 Night The Land of Lord Krishna
Krishna Janmabhoomi, the temples of Vrindavan
and the colours of Braj Holi.
Mathura, on the banks of the Yamuna, is the birthplace of Lord Krishna and, with nearby Vrindavan, Gokul, Govardhan and Barsana, forms Braj Bhoomi - the land where he spent his childhood and youth. Take darshan at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and attend the evening Yamuna aarti at Vishram Ghat in Mathura, then cross to Vrindavan, a town of thousands of temples: the beloved Banke Bihari, the ISKCON temple, the 16th-century Radha Madan Mohan temple on its hill above the river and the white-marble Prem Mandir, which glows with coloured lights every evening. In spring Braj celebrates the most famous Holi in India, with Lathmar Holi in Barsana and flower Holi in Vrindavan.

October to March is the most pleasant time to visit Mathura and Vrindavan. Holi (February / March) and Janmashtami (August / September) are the most spectacular - and the most crowded - times of the year, so book early. April to June is very hot; during the July - September monsoon the countryside of Braj turns green.
