4 Days / 3 Nights Bhutan's Charming Capital
A capital without traffic lights, where tradition
and modern life live side by side.
Thimphu, set in a pine-covered valley at about 2,300 metres, is one of the world's most unusual capitals - traffic is still directed by hand and every building follows traditional Bhutanese design. Visit the giant Buddha Dordenma overlooking the valley, the grand Tashichho Dzong that houses the throne room and government offices, and the Royal Textile Academy. Colourful weekend markets, arts schools and the famous Thimphu Tshechu festival make it the cultural heart of Bhutan.
