5 Days / 4 Nights Home of the Tiger's Nest
A peaceful valley of rice fields, ancient dzongs
and Bhutan's most iconic monastery.
Paro is the gateway to Bhutan, home to the country's only international airport and one of its most beautiful valleys. High above the valley, the legendary Paro Taktsang - the Tiger's Nest monastery - clings to a sheer cliff some 900 metres above the valley floor, where Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated after flying here on the back of a tigress. Explore Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum, visit the 7th-century Kyichu Lhakhang and wander among farmhouses and rice terraces.
